Typically, we ask that you give it about a week to 10 days after you get your scanned copy before you receive the hard copy via the United States Postal Service; this gives us time to print your DD214 and mail you a copy. However, the email copy you received can be used as a valid copy just like the printed copy that we are sending in the mail. Simply print it directly from the email and provide it to whomever is requesting your proof of military service.
What if I also ordered my OMPF?
DD214Direct can also locate your official military personnel file (OMPF), which contains a detailed record of your entire military career, complete with photographs, service documents, correspondence, and in some cases even medical records.
Because an OMPF is a considerably larger record, it takes longer to scan and copy each individual component. As such, you can expect your OMPF anywhere from one to six months from the time our retrieval experts located your file. Rest assured, our team is working as diligently as possible to ensure your records reach in the shortest amount of time.
